仮定法過去
「今」の現実と違うことを仮定する
⇒「過去形」と「would do」を使う。
If S 過去形/were ～, 「もし今～なら」
S would do … 「今～だろう」
would「～だろう」
could「～できるだろう」
might「～かもしれない」
If I had enough money, I would buy a new computer.
もしお金が十分にあれば，新しいコンピュータを買うのに。
If I were you, I would take a few days off.
私があなただったら，２，３日休みを取るのになあ。
If I were you, I would go somewhere to relax.
私があなただったら，どこかに出かけてリラックスするだろう。
If he had time tomorrow, he could go camping with us.
明日時間があれば，彼は私たちと一緒にキャンプに行けるのになあ。
If I had a girlfriend, I would take her to the beach.
もし，ガールフレンドがいたらそのビーチに連れて行くだろう。
仮定法過去完了
「過去」の現実と違うことを仮定する
⇒「過去完了」と「would have done」を使う。
If S had done ～,
「もしあの時～していたら」
S would have done …
「あの時～しただろう」
※done = 過去分詞
would have done「～しただろう」
could have done「～できただろう」
might have done「～したかもしれない」
If I had taken the earlier train, I wouldn’t have missed the flight.
もし早い電車に乗っていれば，その便に乗り遅れることもなかっただろうに。
If I had known her phone number, I could have called her.
もし彼女の電話番号を知っていたら，電話できたのに。
If you had joined our team, we could have won yesterday’s game.
もし君が僕たちのチームに入ってくれていたら，昨日の試合に勝てていただろう。
If he had left home early, he might not have had an accident.
家を早く出ていたら，彼は事故に遭わなかったかもしれない。
